Cherie spent her summer expanding her role at the Chicago Chinatown Pro Bono Legal Clinic, working on new-client intakes and translating during client-attorney consultations. She also conducted research on the prosecutorial discretion in jury selection while interning for the sexual harassment and domestic violence division of the Cook County States Attorney’s Office.
Cherie Zhang is a sophomore majoring in social policy and economics and minoring in legal studies. She grew up in Suzhou, China, and attended the United World College of Li Po Chun in Hong Kong SAR. At Northwestern, Cherie is the vice president of the Northwestern Council on Chinese Affairs, a student group that holds weekly discussions on Sino-American relations and quarterly speaker events on Chinese politics and history.
